Deport is currently accepting applications from anybody interested in a teaching position. At this time, we are searching for a Pre-K teacher; but that may change if any shuffling occurs. Prairiland ISD is about to launch a new service to our community. This new service is called eAlert.
eAlert will allow us to notify you of weather emergencies and make you aware of other important news via email and/or text message.

This service is very easy to subscribe to :

For email eAlerts , click on the eAlert button in the navigation bar of our district’s home page, or click here. This will open a subscription page. You simply enter the email address that you want to receive eAlerts and click subscribe , then click submit.

For text message eAlerts follow basically the same procedure. Click the eAlert button on the navigation bar and the subscription page will pop up. This time enter your 10 digit phone number plus your carrier’s “SMS” address and click subscribe , then click submit. If you do not know your carriers “SMS” address , click here to see a list of all carriers, Email To SMS Email Address List. If you cannot find your carrier’s address here , call them and they will be able to provide it for you.

You can subscribe to both email eAlerts and text message eAlerts. If later you want to change either address click the eAlerts button , enter the address and unsubscribe , then subscribe with the new address.

Note : Check the subscription page periodically to check for new eAlerts as we add them. Each eAlert must be subscribed to individually.

Parent Letter Concerning Medicine

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Prairiland will no longer provide medication for students even if you have given consent for your child to receive "Over the Counter" medications. In the past, the school nurse has offered Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, Tums, Cough Drops, and other medications. Starting today, we will be unable to provide those medications to students.

You may bring medication if you would like for the school nurse to keep it on hand for your child. However, the medication must be sealed in the container in which it was purchased. The container must have your child's name printed on it. If you have more than one child, you must put each name on the container. If you would like to send more than one type of medication, please put the un-opened container in a bag with each child's name on the bag, as well as, the medicine container.

Please send the medication with an adult instead of relying on your children to do it. At the end of the school year, you will be able to pick up the medicine, but we will not be able to send it home before then.
