Magazines
    The Media Center subscribes to 34 magazines and journals.  These are available for teachres and students to read in the center, but may not be checked out.  Most print magazines also have websites.  Also, there are many web-zines, magazines that only have a presence on the internet.  Go to the periodical page from the link below where you will find links to many of both types of sites. 

Reference

     You can find just about anything you want through the services of the Prairiland Media Center.  We have an extensive set of research volumes in print, and we also have databases which you may search to find info on just about any subject you choose.  The databases are available from any computer with an internet connection at home or at school.  Go to the reference link below to search for information.

Audio-Visual

     The Media Center  has more than 800 videos with more to be added soon.  Teachers and students can check these out.  Although most are educational, with applications to particular classes, some are also informational and targeted more for a general audience.  If you would like a catalog of the videos, just e-mail the media center and I can send you a .pdf.

One of the services the Media Center offers is a page of links to many sites for students, teachers and community members.  Clicking on the link will send you to that page where you can keep up with the news, do research and find interactive projects that will aid in learning.

The Media Center Curriculum Database

As a service to teachers, the Media Center supplies a large database of content that you can use in your class.  Currently there are more than 800 PowerPoint presentations on all subjects available and there is a growing list of links to sites that can provide projects and graphic, web-based content to use daily in your class.  Streaming videos are coming soon.  If you are a Prairiland teacher and do not yet have an icon on your desktop to link to the Curriculum Database, please e-mail me and I'll help you make that link.
