About Me

I graduated from Iola High School near College Station.  I went to Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches and transferred to Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. I received a master’s degree in educational leadership at Traveca Nazareen University in Nashville.  In 2014 I completed my doctorate in educational adminstration from Texas A&M –  Commerce.

My wife and I both taught in Covington, Tennessee before moving to Texas in 2006.  I taught science and coached football at Crestview Middle School.  Once we moved here I taught Biology at Prairiland High School.

I am grateful to be a part of Prairiland, and I am really enjoying being a principal.  This has been my first experience working in an elementary school, and I absolutely love it.

In my free time, which is becoming harder to find, I try to enjoy the outdoors.  I love to hunt, fish, and just work outside.  I also love spending time with my family.

The goal at Deport Elementary is to help our students desire to become life long learners, and then give them the tools needed to do that.  Education is a valuable thing that we are trying to give all who are in attendance here at Deport.
