I started teaching at Prairiland High School in 2016. Currently, I teach Resource classes for English I, English II, English III, English IV, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Before coming to Prairiland, I taught at Detroit ISD for 14 years and prior to Detroit ISD, I taught 1 year at Chisum ISD. 

I have been married to my husband and best friend, Daniel, for 30 years! We have three children, one daughter, Shelbi and son-in-law Lane, two sons, Jesse and daughter-in-law Baylee, and Jaden. We also have 1 grandson Liam, and 3 granddaughters Avery, Addie, and Ella. 

I am a member of the Blossom Church of God, which I have attended since 1993, and where I have played the organ since 2000. I love being outdoors (when it's below 90'), reading, and spending time with my family. I also have, or have had, an array of pets that my family refers to as “Mary’s Looney Farm”... my Boston Terrier “Newt” and my Cane Corso “Hank”, my resue raccoon “Bandit”, my Duck “Pete”, my Cat “Kitty”, my rescue squirrel “Salley”, and various chickens. I chose teaching Special Education as a career in order to help struggling students become more successful in their learning and to encourage them to make positive decisions for their future.
